Britton Middle School Student Union

Britton Middle School’s new two-story Student Union is a vibrant and welcoming resource for both the school and the Morgan Hill community. Designed by LPA Architects and built by Flint Construction, we partnered on the project with furniture for new cafeteria, library, offices, classrooms, media center, conference rooms, space for school and community gatherings and outdoor spaces.

Innovative study zones both indoor and outdoor, create new experiences, opportunities and choices for middle school students, introducing modern learning environments and greater agency for students along with enhanced community connection.
The second floor study pod above the cafe, made private by the use of textured glass, offers light filled space and flexible seating options to create individual or group work settings. It's one of the many interior spaces creating the glow of this new community "jewel".
LPA Architects' design supports mind, body and community with the Student Union site so open to the city. Natural materials, access to light and views into the Morgan Hill community and its surroundings, and the wide variety of comfortable, flexible furniture all create accessible spaces for every user.
More open and flexible space in the large media center/library continue the commitment to learning spaces designed around student comfort, choice and sense of belonging. And the openness to community throughout the space underscores the connection to the greater Morgan Hill community.
Britton Middle School's new Student Union Building and Admin Modernization act as both bridge and gateway for the school community and a dynamic display of the new campus identity to the greater Morgan Hill community.
