California Natural Resources Agency | One Workplace

California Natural Resources Agency

To support the California Natural Resources Agency mission, IA, AC Martin, and Turner Construction designed a 22-story, nature-inspired headquarters in downtown Sacramento, consolidating 3,000 employees from multiple locations. Focused on community, connection, and transparency, the building sets a new benchmark for sustainable, collaborative government workplaces. Our Sacramento team was proud to curate the ancillary furnishings that help bring this vision to life.

The chance to contribute to the largest ever California State Project Infrastructure Fund (SPIF) Department of General Services project and to the future of downtown Sacramento was one we didn't take lightly.
We curated the selection of soft seating, comfortable lounges, occasional tables, banquettes and outdoor furniture to create spaces where CNRA staff could work, gather, meet, plan, and celebrate - all closely meeting the project design intent.
Material finishes and patterns throughout the new building are inspired by California deserts, deltas, coasts, forests, and glaciers—creating memorable moments, wayfinding, engaging designs, and spaces to encourage cross-departmental interaction between all the CNRA teams.
Outdoor terraces offer employees even more choices: work spaces, gathering spaces, areas for quiet moments and wellness breaks. Beautiful settings for these stewards of the state’s natural, historical, and cultural assets.
