The Glenn County Superior Court partnered with Page & Turnbull architects and Kitchell CM for the renovation and expansion of their Willows Historic Courthouse, originally constructed in the late 1800s. The project featured the rehabilitation and seismic strengthening of the building, removal of some later additions, design and construction of a new 26,000-square-foot addition. And we provided a blended furniture solution that combines refurbishment and reuse of existing traditional pieces with new transitional furniture and finishes.
The existing building, which originally contained one courtroom, was expanded to accommodate three courtrooms, judges’ chambers, clerical spaces, jury assembly areas, and other public support spaces. Adding the new building and ensuring everything worked together aesthetically and functionally across architecture, details and furnishings was critical to the project success.
I have worked with One Workplace on multiple projects between two Court facilities. The team is hands on, helpful and ensures the project is exactly what we envisioned; and the entire staff from design team, account managers and installers are supportive, friendly, caring, and knowledgeable about the products they sell. Our newly renovated and expanded Courthouse in Willows CA was designed with Access to Justice in mind, and One Workplace delivered an outstanding product to fulfill that purpose.
