Led by CannonDesign in collaboration with the California Department of General Services (DGS) and delivered through one of DGS’s first Progressive Design-Build projects with McCarthy Building Companies, the project transforms this four-story, approximately 308,000-square-foot historic landmark into a modern, sustainable civic workplace on track for LEED Platinum and net-zero energy performance.

Sourcing furniture to support Cannon's design aesthetic was key to the project intent to create inclusive, comfortable, and flexible spaces that merge seamlessly with the building's strongly expressed 1980's design.

Working closely with McCarthy Construction Management and within the negotiated California CMAS contract, our Sacramento team helped translate the design team’s specifications into furniture solutions that enhance community areas, meeting zones, respite spaces, and support environments where state employees can thrive.
