Seattle Storm Center for Basketball Performance | One Workplace

Seattle Storm Center for Basketball Performance

Creating the "first dedicated WNBA practice facility designed and built from the ground up, showcasing the Storm’s pioneering vision for the future of women’s basketball" was a landmark project. Women-led project teams from the Storm, ZGF Architects and Shive-Hattery Architects, Sellen Construction and One Workplace, and many others, dedicated expertise and hours towards the success of the new Center.

The Storm ownership team, including the Furniture selection committee, enjoyed working with One Workplace during the programming, layout & selection of the furniture. We were able to learn of some new products for the office space and OWP helped us find cost effective, attractive custom designs for the amenity & lounge spaces, especially for the coaches & players, who are taller than average which affected the size & style of furniture needed. We enjoyed working with everyone on the team. Maria Barrientos, Managing Partner, Real Estate Development
From the moment we heard about the project, our team was laser focused on collaboration, working together to understand needs and aspirations and translate those to actionable, affordable and unique solutions in design, furniture, furnishings and art. From custom banquettes and seating for tall basketball players, a custom conference table made from the old court flooring, to custom rugs and finishes to meet the Storm colors, and House of Sorcery original art, we left no stone unturned.
Coaches, trainers and players lounges. front office and admin spaces, indoor and outdoor gathering, engaging and celebratory moments, and of course the practice courts and views, make this space accessible and welcoming to the entire Storm and Seattle community. We're proud to have been a part of the team.
Working with One Workplace was a pleasure; the team was knowledgeable, organized, highly collaborative and design focused. They clearly understood both design drivers and the mission of the Seattle Storm organization, they helped source custom furnishings that speak to the Storm’s culture, and connected us with House of Sorcery who created the custom art piece in the Player’s lounge. End result is a building that not only provides a place to practice, but also feels like home to the Storm team, and furniture plays a major role in that.
